MEXICO PT. 2 FRIDA KAHLO HOUSE
My heart, eyes and stomach are still in Mexico City. So much left unexplored, uneaten, undocumented. Was only able to get to La Condesa, Roma Norte, Polanco and Coyoacán. Already making plans to return. Photos and journal entries will have to hold me over until the next Horchata con Espresso.
One highlight was our visit to the Frida Kahlo house in Coyoacán. It was the creative inspiration I needed. While walking through her house and studio, what I found most interesting were the curated black and white photographs documenting her life, a reminder to photograph what you love, down the line they’ll mean something to someone.
After Kahlo we ventured around Coyoacán exploring the market, side streets and parks. The only downer was that we were looking forward to a mezcal tasting my wife found, only to be told there was no tasting. We stayed for lunch, ordered mezcal anyway and took in the edges of Jardín Centenario park before heading to Roma Norte. You gotta be flexible when you travel, when life gives you lemons you make mezcal.
I was hating on the all the influencers, but the blue wall does make a fire background.
Mexico Pt. 3 coming soon.
