MEXICO CITY: PRINT

I like to think of print as my photos coming home. When I’m traveling, priority number one is being present. I want to enjoy the destination and the people I'm with. I didn’t want to experience Mexico City through my iPhone, nor do I want my photos to live there. I know when I press the shutter, that frame has potential to become a spread in a zine destined for more than the mercy of an algorithm.

Every trip, ends with a few prints, postcards or a zine. I’m not trying to make the perfect coffee table book. I find the zine a perfect medium. The zine is approachable, light and doesn't ask much of you. Just pick it up, flip through it, put it down, come back to it, or even linger for a while it’s all up to you.

Who are these zines for? Me. I’m a selfish photographer. My audience is small, it’s me. Occasionally, I’ll make a few extra copies to share with friends and family, who I know will appreciate it. Sort of like a souvenir, but more like I was there, this is what I saw. This is way better than texting a bunch of photos or endlessly scrolling my camera roll.

I’ve been having way too much fun creating mini zines.
