ROLL CALL: IS FILM WORTH IT?
Okay, confession time: it’s been ages since I blogged a roll. It’s been even longer since I shot one.
And yeah, sometimes I ask myself why I bother. Film ain't cheap. It’s cumbersome. You rollin’ the dice with each snap. All this effort in hopes of a decent frame or two.
But then I pull those negatives out the tank, drippin’ with fixer, give one smooth glide with the squeegee, hold ‘em up to the light, and the question answers itself.
Always worth it.
I only have one real photo rule, my own internal algorithm: Shoot what you love, shoot your life.
Film, digital, doesn’t matter. SHOOT FOR SELF!
These are the first frames of a test roll on my Konica Big Mini HG.
Handed my camera to a friend who hadn’t shot film in forever. That’s what I love about point and shoots, literally can’t fuck it up. Watching them make the frame was a joy in and of itself, especially when she was looking for the LCD screen.
Print. Always print.
