ALOHA
When I travel, especially with my family, my mantra is, make memories not content. I don’t post photos, although I may send a few pics to close family and friends. The end game is print…always. Whether it be inkjet prints, post cards, or a zine these memories will live on in hand.
Hawaii is a welcome break from the cold and wet Pacific Northwest in the middle of winter, and trip I look forward to all year. Nothing like the first time your sandy feet become awash in the warm Pacific. I’ve been thinking a lot about Hawaii recently, especially as I flip through these photos. Storms pounded the islands in March, and I’m always reminded how fragile the island is when driving through Lahaina as the community rebuilds from the devastating wildfire. I believe you have to show some humility and respect when you visit Hawaii, respect the land, its people and you too will be embraced warmly like the waters of the Pacific.
Mahalo.
